Benjamin Revey

Benjamin Revey was born about 1771 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, possibly the son of Thomas Revy, but further research is needed to confirm this information. On December 7, 1811 in Middexsex County, New Jersey, Benjamin Revey married Catherine RUNYON. (b. Abt. 1780 in Middlesex County, New Jersey.

Benjamin Reevey was born about 1821 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, the son of Benjamin and Catherine (Runyon) Revey. Benjamin Revey, married Mary Ann Revy, the daughter of Joseph and Harriett Revy of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Richard Revey was born about 1814 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, son of Benjamin and Catherine (Runyon) Revey. Richard Revey married Nancy in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Isaac was employed as a carpenter. Isaac Richardson died on February 29, 1904 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He is buried at Mount Prospect Cemetery.

Johnson Benjamin Revey and his wife, Restelle Richardson Revey

Sand Hill Indians. The late Johnson and Restelle Revey. Johnson was descended from two New Jersey Indian families: his mother was a Johnson, his father a Revey. Restelle Revey had a Cherokee father named Richardson, and a Delware Indian mother. 

Benjamin (James) Revey married Rebecca Lucinda Holmes. Johnson Benjamin Revey was born on April 2, 1859, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, the son of Benjamin James Revey and Rebecca Lucinda (Holmes) Revey. 

 

On October 19, 1893 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Johnson Revey married Restelle Richardson. They had a daughter, Lucinda Revey baptized at Trinity Church in Asbury Park, there are not any other records about Lucinda. Their sons were James Revey and Robert Vincent Revey. The family lived in New York City.

Robert Vincent Revey married Vivian Ritter. And they had Mercedes Revey born 1925 and James "Lone Bear" Revey.

James "Lone Bear" Revey was deeply committed to preserving his family's Indigenous heritage. As a passionate advocate for Lenape culture, he shared his knowledge and traditions with others, ensuring their continued legacy. He served as a consultant at Seton Hall University, where he educated students and faculty about the rich history and customs of the Lenape people.

 

Through his work, Revey played a crucial role in keeping his culture alive, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of Indigenous traditions among future generations. His dedication to cultural preservation was a testament to his enduring legacy.

Robert Revey

Robert Revey was born about 1800 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. On July 9, 1826, in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey, Robert Revey married Sarah RICHARDSON.
