Hiram Nickens
Born: 1791-1858
Hiram Nickens was born in 1791 possibly in Virginia. He may have lived in New York City as a young man. His early life is not known at this time. Hiram Nickens was a seaman who died in October 1858 in Staten Island, New York at the Seaman Retreat Cemetery in Staten Island but this Cemetery was obliterated.

He married Letty Revey. Lettie Revey was born in 1822 in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Leta Revey
Leta Revey was born about 1822 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. When her husband, Hiram Nickens died in Staten Island, New York in 1858, Leta Revey married Morris L. Richardson. William and Leta (Revey) had one daughter, Lavina Richardson born November 1865 in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

In 1860, Hiram and Leta (Revey) Nickens' children Hiram Nickens Jr, Mary E. Nickens, and Julia A. Nickens lived with Leonard DeGrant in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

In 1870, the Richardson family lived in Monmouth County, New Jersey, their household included Morris Richardson, age 40, employed as a labor, Leutica, Lavina age 4, and Julia A. Nickens age 17.

Hiram Nickens Jr.
Hiram Nickens Jr. was born in August 16, 1843 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, the son of Hiram and Letty (Revey) Nickens. Hiram was enlisted in the Navy and lived in Brooklyn, New York with this wife, Catherine Nickens.
Their children were: D. Nickens born 1861, child: born 1865, Harry Nickens born 1868, A..M. Nickens born 1879, A.H. Nickens born 1872, Ladacia Nickens born 1874, Edward Nickens born June 1875, and George Nickens born May 1876, possibly in New York City. Hiram Nickens died on March 13, 1904. He is buried at White Ridge Cemetery in Eatontown, New Jersey.

On October 5, 1899, in Monmouth County, New Jersey Amos B. Nickens married Leah Richardson, born 1877, daughter of Joseph and Alice Richardson of Monmouth County, New Jersey.
