Lone Bear Revey has shed light on the historical significance of the Sand Hill Band in Monmouth County, New Jersey, which encompasses two integral branches of the indigenous nation of New Jersey, namely the Lenape and Cherokee. The Revey family itself has ancestral roots within the Raritan-Lenape community.

James "Lone Bear" Revey
James “Lone Bear Revey was born on January 29, 1924, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, son of Robert V. Revey and Vivian Ritter. James Revey’s sister was Mercedes Revey (b. 1922).
James Revey died on May 18, 1998, in East Orange, New Jersey. James "Lone Bear" Revey is the grandson, of Johnson Benjamin Revey and Restelle Richardson of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

In 1950, the Revey family lived on Vine Street in Lynbrook, Nassau County New York. Robert Revey 53 years old was employed as a manager for a trucking company, in Lynbrook, New York. His wife, Vivian (Ritter) Revey was 50 years old, and their son James Revey was employed as an “Indian Craft Maker”. Also, living in the household was Charlotte Younger, Vivian’s mother. In 1940, the Revey family on E163 street lived in the Bronx in New York.
